The Newport Folk Festival, founded by George Wein in 1959, takes place on the grounds at Fort Adams State Park and features four stages of world class musicians, food, vendors and a number of exhibits. Fort Adams is located at 90 Fort Adams Drive, Newport, RI. One of the park system’s national treasures, Fort Adams is situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the East Passage. The festival runs rain or shine.

SPARKLING LIGHTS AT THE BREAKERS: AN OUTDOOR MAGICAL WONDERLAND

For the first time, the exterior of this great house and its landscape will be awash in light, including 28 spruce trees covered in holiday lights with shifting colors along the two driveways; three large evergreen trees at the house entrance decorated with lights and ornaments; and illumination of the historic paths, hedges and shrubbery as visitors stroll the grounds.
The Children’s Cottage will be outlined in lights and visitors will be able to peek through the windows at Santa’s Workshop inside. Holiday music will fill the air there and at the Welcome Center, and refreshments such as hot chocolate and sweets will be available to purchase.

NEWPORT, RI – ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
The 65th Annual Newport, Rhode Island Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be held, rain, snow, or shine, on Saturday, March 13h 2021. It will begin promptly at 11:00am from Newport City Hall and will proceed to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward. The parade this year is estimated to last 2 hours and will include Pipe Bands, Marching Bands, Fife & Drum Corps, Clown Units, reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits.

Our Festival Dates for 2021 are April 9-18. 9 Days of “daffiness” featuring parades, a doggie costume contest, outdoor movie, music, bike tour of the daffodils, a car rally and exhibit — and so much more.
