Come celebrate Newport at Newport Winter Festival 2018! The 30th annual return of this ten day festival sees over 150 special events – and all in Newport County, RI. February 16th through the 25th, 2018.
Newport Winter Festival 2018, “New England’s Largest Winter Extravaganza,” is 10 days of music, food, festivities, and fun! On top of all the events, you’ll also discover restaurant and retail discounts throughout Newport and Newport County! The non-stop celebration offers events and attractions for all ages and walks of life.
The 30th anniversary promises both plenty of new events as well as many old favorites. Highlights of Newport Winter Festival 2018 include the popular Chili Cook-Off, Beach Polo, Nashville Country Fest, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, and much more.

Polar Pineapples – February 16, 17, & 23
Sample the Winter Festival 2018 signature cocktail at Pineapples on the Bay. Enjoy both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, a variety of ice sculptures, ice luge, and views of Narragansett Bay. 3pm to 9pm
The 23rd Annual Chili Cook-Off – February 17
Bring your appetite as area restaurants and caterers compete to see who has the best chili in town! Vote for your favorite and enjoy Sam Adams specials. 11am to 3:30pm
Beach Polo – February 17 & 18
You’ve never seen a better game of polo than the annual Newport Winter Festival’s Beach Polo at Easton’s Beach. Come out and enjoy the FREE spectacle of horsemanship and Newport’s lovely beaches. 2:30pm
Changes in Latitudes – Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band– February 17
Changes in Latitudes is the nationally acclaimed Jimmy Buffet tribute band. You’ll be thrilled with the amazingly authentic reproduction of the Jimmy Buffett concert experience. It’s flying leis and beach balls, conga lines, and “Trop Rock” fun for all. 8:30pm
Sam Adams Beer Dinner – February 20
Reservations are required for this popular annual tour through a beer-paired menu with a visiting Sam Adams brewmaster. Reception at 6pm; dinner at 6:30pm at The Mooring Seafood Kitchen and Bar.
13th Annual Illuminated Garden – February 22
It’s like entering a fantasy land of light when you walk through the Illuminated Garden at Ballard Park. Thousands of lights displayed in the three-acre quarry meadow. 6pm to 9pm
Winter Festival Comedy Show – February 23
Come laugh along with the crowds at the annual Winter Festival Comedy Show. This year features legendary Boston comedian Steve Sweeney and nationally headlining comedian Marion Grodin. 8:30pm
