Come out to Newport this spring and hit the road – or should I say Rhode? Newport Rhode Races 2018 offer a marathon, half marathon, and 5k on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Newport, RI.
Newport Rhode Races 2018 kicks off the Daffodil Days Festival with three races; a marathon, half-marathon, and a 5k. The 26.2 mile marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
All three races start off from Easton’s Beach (also known as 1st Beach). The first half of the course runs along Newport’s craggy shores, offering wide open ocean vistas and views of our historic mansions. The Half Marathon will finish upon return to Easton’s Beach. The full marathon continues on to Middletown, past Hanging Rock and Surfer’s End, to finish back along the water at Easton’s Beach.
Newport Rhode Races 2018 route has a total ascent of 747.42 feet and a maximum elevation of 15.75 feet. A challenging course with gorgeous views. Add in some 100,000 daffodils that will be in bloom and you’ll know why we also refer to the race as the Dash Through the Daffodils!
