Newport Oyster Festival returns for it’s third year with a veritable Rhode Island oyster tour for your taste buds! Fresh oysters, a full bar, live music, contests, and more! May 18th through the 20th, 2018!
If you love fresh shellfish, you’ll love the Newport Oyster Festival, held each year at Newport’s own Bowen’s Wharf. Rhode Island is home to more than 40 oyster farms and each with its own, unique taste.
Newport Oyster Festival 2018 is set to feature oysters from more than a dozen of these Rhode Island oyster farmers. Sampling them is like taking a kind of culinary tour of some of the Ocean State’s oyster farms.
You’ll also have the opportunity to taste the delicious prepared oyster offerings from The Wharf Pub, Matunuck Oyster Bar and other fine, Rhode Island restaurants.
Newport Oyster Festival is much more than just slurping down fresh, delicious shellfish, however. So much so that I would venture to say even people who don’t like oysters (wait – they exist?) will enjoy themselves!
While oysters – raw, steamed, roasted, fried, you name it – are definitely the focus of Newport Oyster Festival, there will be plenty of other things to eat and drink. Vendor tents, food trucks, and the above restaurants will have other delicious food, aside from oysters.
And drink, well, you DO realize that, apart from Bowen’s Wharf, Newport Oyster Festival 2018 is being hosted by Moët & Chandon … champagne and oysters, anyone? Cocktails, craft beer, wine, and more will also be available.
Beyond all the great food and drink, Newport Oyster Festival also features an Oyster Shucking Contest, vendors, and a full schedule of live entertainment – just take a look!
