Summer is in full swing and there is plenty happening in the next few months to keep you entertained and having fun. From the Newport Jazz Festival, to the Annual Food and Wine Festival, there’s something for everyone.
To kick the month of August off, the Newport Jazz Festival is in town, and while the weather might not be the best, it’s sure not going to stop anyone from hearing some great Jazz acts. Taking place at Fort Adams, this is the second of two large festivals put on by the Newport Festivals Foundation and brings the world of Jazz to Newport for three days. There are still tickets for those of you who need a last minute activity. Fort Adams is also putting on a summer concert series, Sundown Thursdays, where they host free concerts by local artists.
The Newport Yachting Center hosts the Newport Concert and Comedy series, which has a lot of great acts coming between now and the end of September. Some of these great acts include: Artie Lange, Nick Swardson, the Newport Reggae Festival, The Beach Boys, Bill Cosby, Alanis Morissette, Jim Jefferies, the Newport Celtic Rock Festival, and Amy Schumer. support the Fort Adams Trust. Beer and Rum drinks will be available as well as food vendors and a variety of Hawaiian themed entertainment will be keeping Fort Adams alive from 4:30 to 10pm.
