Come to Newport, Rhode Island this February for Newport Vineyards’ 22nd annual WINEterfest Weekend! WINEterfest 2018 promises three days of live music and wine tastings February 16th through the 18th, 2018.
The month of February is hopping in Newport County, RI! Not only do we have Valentine’s Day and the ten-day Newport Winter Festival to look forward to but also WINEterfest Weekend! Both WINEterfest 2018 and Winterfest kick off on President’s Day Weekend. The combination of these two events offers amazing opportunities to experience and enjoy the best of Newport County!
WINEterfest Weekend has been a Newport County tradition since 1996. The event is hosted by Newport Vineyards, a family-run winery in Middletown, RI. Attendees can look forward to tasting fine Newport wines by the glass along with delicious tidbits and a variety of special events.
One of the most popular attractions is the Grape Stomping Competition, held both Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 3pm.
Interested in a hands-on (feet-on?) wine-making experience that’s like no other? Come appropriately dressed to WINEterfest 2018 and you just may! Contestants for the annual WINEterfest Grape Stomping Competition will be selected at randomly each day. Those chosen will have the uncommon opportunity to smash grapes with their bare feet.
Other attractions at WINEterfest 2018 include an ice wine bar and a variety of locally-made, gourmet tidbits. This year’s WINEterfest entertainment features the up-beat, roots-rock covers and originals of The Little Compton Band.
WINEterfest Weekend kicks off at 7pm, February 16th at the WINEterfest Speakeasy Soiree.
This annual opening party features a Prohibition Era theme with cocktails and handcrafted light fare. Entertainment comes in the form of Miss Katie Kleyla and her Speakeasy Jazz Band. Come dance the night away in roaring-20’s style. Speakeasy attire a plus!
