Newport Great Chowder Cook-Off
Things get off to a roaring start with the 2018 Great Chowder Cook-Off! Newport’s annual chowder festival has been going strong for 37 years – the longest running event of its kind! Newport Chowder Festival 2018 will offer endless chowder samples from local, national and international competitors plus an opportunity to help vote in the winner! British Motorcar Festival
Car enthusiasts will enjoy the two-day, British Motorcar Festival in Bristol, RI. Come admire all the classic British motorcars from across New England … or drive your own to join in! There will be a Scenic Back Roads Rally, Friday Night Street Party, British Attire Competition, Tailgate Competition, and much more. June 8th and 9th, 9am to 5pm at Colt State Park. Motors & Mansions (also known as Cars & Coffee) is along similar lines. Motors & Mansions is a series of classic car shows around Newport, RI, usually on the grounds of a Newport Mansion. Newport Bermuda Race
If you missed the Volvo Ocean Race – or are just still buzzing from it, you’ll be interested to know that the Newport Bermuda Race kicks off June 15th from Castle Hill Light. The three to six day race across the Atlantic began in 1906.
Newport Flower Show 2018
The annual Newport Flower Show is a one-stop nirvana for any plant-lover. Floral designs, horticulture exhibits, garden displays, lectures, demonstrations, special events, and unique shopping opportunities abound. Plus it’s hosted at Rosecliff Mansion! The theme for Newport Flower Show 2018 is “Cottages Smart & Small,” celebrating both yesterday’s Gilded Age “cottages” as well as today’s tiny homes. June 22nd through June 24th at Rosecliff Mansion.
