Newport’s 23rd annual WINEterfest Weekend is just weeks away, so now is the time to grab your tickets before they sell out! This is especially true of the WINEterfest Speakeasy Soiree, scheduled for the evening of Friday, February 15th.
Newport County, RI is a hotbed of activity in February with both Valentine’s Day and the cornucopia of events that is Newport Winter Festival.
WINEterfest has been a part of every Newport Winter Festival since 1996! The event is hosted by Newport Vineyards, which is a family-run winery located in Middletown, RI. Attending is a great way to celebrate President’s or Valentine’s Day weekend (which all depends on your perspective).
WINEterfest Speakeasy Soiree
Kick off the weekend and Newport Winter Festival on Friday, February 15th, from 7pm to 10pm at the Speakeasy Soiree!
The Speakeasy Soiree is a prohibition-style cocktail event with limited seating and lots of room for dancing. 1920’s, prohibition-era attire and flare are encouraged. Live music will be provided by Miss Katie Kleyla and a Speakeasy Jazz Band.

Newport WINEterfest 2019
Saturday, February 16th and Sunday, February 17th, noon to 5pm, both days.
WINEterfest Weekend offers a chance to taste fine Newport wines by the glass at the famous Ice Wine Bar. You’ll also be able to sample craft beers via Taproot Brewing. Newport Vineyards’ culinary team will serve up delicious, scratch-made, paired nibbles to balance out the libations.
This year’s festival sees two great bands. Saturday will see The Teledynes take the stage from noon to 4pm with their own brand of energetic surf rock and rockabilly. Sunday brings the Little Compton Band back to the WINEterfest stage (12pm-4pm) for more of their infectious roots-rock covers and originals.
WINEterfest Grape Stomping Competitions
Saturday & Sunday, Feb 17 & 18, 1pm to 3pm
It wouldn’t be WINEterfest without the Grape Stomping Competition and both days of WINEterfest include this fun and popular event!
Come watch – or even join in the fun – as we juice wine grapes the old fashioned way: with our bare feet! Hopeful contestants for the annual should come appropriately dressed and will be randomly chosen each day, 1pm to 3pm.
