Adele Turner Inn

This historic Newport Bed And Breakfast, built to house sea captains, is believed to be Rhode Island’s oldest lodging house. It sits in one of Newport’s most historic, in-town neighborhoods, amidst two to three-century-old homes. It is the ideal Newport B&B.

Located just blocks from the harbor, this getaway allows visitors to see all of what Newport really has to offer! Since it also sits near restaurants and shops, guests have ease of travel for entertainment and meals.

Framed by 27 distinctive round-top windows, the elegant Victorian building was constructed in 1855 on the first gas-lit street in America – The National Register of Historic Places includes the Adele Turner Inn on its list.

The Inn, conveniently located two blocks from the harbor, features eleven beautifully decorated guest bedrooms. All rooms feature fireplaces, large beds with fine linens, antiques, and artwork. The luxury suites also include either a whirlpool or steam bath. Newport, RI’s most unique lodging might just be the Adele Turner’s Harborview Spa Room, which includes a private rooftop deck, hot tub, and panoramic view of Newport Harbor.

In September, 2010, the Adele Turner was acquired by seasoned innkeepers Harry and Cheryl Schatmeyer. They have also owned Newport’s popular Victorian Ladies Inn since 2004. Harry and Cheryl provide sincere, relaxing hospitality along with dedicated, service-oriented staff. No romantic Rhode Island Inn comes close as far as service, comfort and pure aesthetic pleasure.

The Adele Turner Inn includes a two course breakfast and daily afternoon tea. Additionally, they offer wine tasting with select cheeses every Saturday. Visit www.adeleturner.com for more information about this historic Newport bed and breakfast.
