The Newport Antiques Show is one of America’s biggest, upscale antiques events, attracting some of the industry’s most distinguished antiques dealers, and collectors like you – July 22 – July 24, 2016 in Newport, RI!
Not your ordinary antiques event and miles above your average “flea market masquerading as an antiques show” affair, the annual Newport Antiques Show is always worth attending. Add in the fact that this is the 10th anniversary of one of the country’s biggest and most prestigious antiques shows, and you have an event no collector should miss.
The Newport Antiques Show brings over 40 of the country’s top antiques dealers to the area, offering a diverse selection of antiques, such as fine furniture, jewelry, fine art, folk art, decorative arts, and the like. This year’s show also promises a component of more modern offerings, including photography.
The show also includes a number of lectures and demonstrations on topics ranging from identifying antiques to restoring antiques, and more. Another series of presentations, Curating the Future: Trends in Collecting Today, is presented by the Newport Historical Society and will showcase objects from the NHS collection that illustrate the changes that have occurred in collecting habits since the society’s founding in the mid-19th century.
