Summer is in full swing and there is plenty happening in the next few
months to keep you entertained and having fun. From the Newport Jazz
Festival, to the Annual Food and Wine Festival, there’s something for

To kick the month of August off, the Newport Jazz Festival is in town,
and while the weather might not be the best, it’s sure not going to
stop anyone from hearing some great Jazz acts. Taking place at Fort Adams,
this is the second of two large festivals put on by the Newport
Festivals Foundation and brings the world of Jazz to Newport for three
days. There are still tickets for those of you who need a last minute
activity. Fort Adams is also putting on a summer concert series,
Sundown Thursdays, where they host free concerts by local artists.

The Newport Yachting Center hosts the Newport Concert and Comedy
series, which has a lot of great acts coming between now and the end of
September. Some of these great acts include: Artie Lange, Nick
Swardson, the Newport Reggae Festival, The Beach Boys, Bill Cosby,
Alanis Morissette, Jim Jefferies, the Newport Celtic Rock Festival, and
Amy Schumer. For more details and to purchase tickets to one of these
shows, click here. Also happening down at the Newport Yachting Center
is the International Boat Show, held from September 11th through the
14th. This show is one of the largest in-water boat shows in the
country and showcases a variety of makes and models of sailboats and
powerboats. Domestic and International dealers will be present. Off
the water, there will be marine products and services available.

For those of you interested in drinking socially, the Newport Storm
Luau and the Newport Food and Wine Festival might be for you. On
August 16th, Newport Storm will be hosting its 16th Annual Luau to
support the Fort Adams Trust. Beer and Rum drinks will be available as
well as food vendors and a variety of Hawaiian themed entertainment
will be keeping Fort Adams alive from 4:30 to 10pm. The 9th Annual
Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival will be held from September
19th to the 21st. Events take place all weekend at the Elms, Marble
House and Rosecliff. This year Martha Stewart and Sara Moulton will be
joining the events along with a variety of other guest chefs, wine experts
and personalities. For more information or to purchase tickets, click

If sports are more your thing, the Newport International Polo Series

Portsmouth to compete in the Polo Series. The Tennis Hall of Fame will
be celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary this year with the Hall of Fame
Diamond Celebration, which will be held on August 16th. There will be
hors d’oeuvres, and open bar, dancing, croquet and prizes for the best
50’s themed costumes. For tickets, click here.
